Password Generator

Generate secure random passwords

Include:

Create a strong random password

Passwords are built from the character sets you tick, using crypto.getRandomValues, and never leave your browser. Length matters most: each extra character multiplies the number of possible passwords, so 16 characters with all four sets is a solid default.

Examples

16 characters, all character types

8 characters, lowercase and numbers only — about 41 bits, too weak for important accounts

Frequently asked questions

How long should a password be?

Use at least 12 characters for everyday accounts and 16 or more for email, banking and password-manager master passwords. Each extra character multiplies the number of possible passwords.

Are the generated passwords secure?

Yes. Characters are chosen with crypto.getRandomValues, the browser API designed for security-sensitive randomness, and nothing leaves your browser.

Should I include symbols?

Symbols increase the number of combinations per character, so they make short passwords stronger. If a site rejects some symbols, turn them off and add a few characters of length instead.

Can I reuse a generated password?

Don't. Use a different password for every account, so a leak on one site does not expose the others.
