Image Metadata Cleaner

Remove EXIF, GPS and other metadata without re-compressing your image

Your image is processed entirely in your browser and never uploaded.

Remove metadata without losing quality

The cleaner removes metadata blocks without re-encoding the image: EXIF and XMP (APP1), IPTC/Photoshop (APP13) and comments in JPEG; text, XMP, EXIF and timestamp chunks in PNG; EXIF and XMP chunks in WebP. Pixels and colour profiles are untouched, so quality stays identical and the file usually gets slightly smaller. HEIC is not supported — convert it to JPEG first.

Frequently asked questions

Does removing metadata reduce image quality?

No. The image is not re-encoded; only metadata segments are dropped, so the pixels stay exactly the same.

Why is my photo rotated after cleaning?

Some cameras store the photo sideways and record the correct orientation in EXIF. Removing EXIF removes that flag too; rotate the image in an editor and save it if needed.

Which formats are supported?

JPEG, PNG and WebP. To clean a HEIC photo, convert it to JPEG first with the image converter.

Is the image uploaded to a server?

No. Cleaning happens entirely in your browser.
